What is the cheapest way to make it to the San Francisco Airpot for a 6am flight? BART doesn't arrive in time

What is the cheapest way to make it to the San Francisco Airpot for a 6am flight? BART doesn't arrive in time.
I just moved to the Bay Area. I am looking for an apartment so I don't know where i'll be departing from. But I think i'll be in Walnut Creek. What is the cheapest way to make it to the SFO airport for a 6 am flight? I probably need to be there by 5 am to make it through security and checkin. Obviously the BART is the cheapest way to get there but the earliest I can get there with the BART is 5:30. Which is cutting it too close. I don't have access to a car and I can't rely upon somebody to drop me off. Can anyone recommend a cheap shuttle service or any alternative to this problem? I won't be booking anymore 6 am flights from SFO after this. Thanks!

Muni would be the best way to go, it'll get u there on time and its $1.50
2 :
How about a taxi, not exactly cheap though.
3 :
Supershuttle Suppershuttle has a website. Also Loris ariport shuttle.
4 :
you could take the last bart train to sfo which would get you to the airport just before 2 am. that would give you a little time to kill, but it sound's like you have more time than money right now.
5 :
Super Shuttle will get you there on time.

That's why I never ever book a flight at that time, I could have the same problem to go from home to the airport. Let's see! If I were you I would take the last BART train from Walnuk Creek to SFO the night before and wait until early in the morning to make the check- in. You will only wait like 4 hours, it's nothing. If you decide to try it in the morning, time will stress you out a lot! I'm serious and think about that you will have to wake up like 4pm or before as well. I always take book flights leaving at 8 or so and have missed flight twice lol and at 6am mmmmmm think about my sugestion again!! Good luck

The person who suggested Muni apparently doesn't understand the question, since Muni goes neither to Walnut Creek nor to the airport. Shuttles from WC are going to be expensive AND will probably give you a pickup time of 2 AM. At that point, it may be that you would do just as well to take the LAST possible BART train before they shut down for the night. By the way, with no car, how do you figure on getting TO BART?

Shuttles are efficient, but you'll pay $50+ each way. My sister lives in Hawaii and visits our mom in Concord once or twice a year. She used to use a shuttle service but found it's cheaper to pick up a rental car in Concord and drop it off at SFO. By the way, I had a 6 am flight 3 weeks ago and had a friend drop me off at 4:50. I was flying United which doesn't start checking anyone in until 5 am, and I arrived to find extremely long lines. Security is also backed up at that time because you'll be in line with people who arrived 2-3 hours before their flights. Those who suggested taking the last Bart train might have the right idea. (But I'd also check out the one-way car rental.)

Boeing 314? On a Boeing 314, a trip from San Francisco to Hawaii would take forever.
2 :
It took some 14 hours to fly SFO to HNL in a Boeing 314 - That would have been the 1939-1945 era with PanAm - By the way, the distance is 2,300 nautical miles - Their cruise speed was 160 knots -

what happens if our flight is delayed

what happens if our flight is delayed?
so we have three flights....one going to san francisco and the other going to frankfurt. our layover time in san francisco will only be 47 minutes. there is going to be a thunderstorm....so what if our flight to san francisco gets delayed and we become late or miss our next flight? what will we do? i mean, its the dang weather's fault!

The airline will usually try to make accommodations to get you on another flight or even in rare cases, the connecting flight could be held when they know there are a large number of passengers coming in yet.
2 :
Not a problem if you have all of your flights booked at the same time with the same airline. They know if their own flights are delayed and will arrange accordingly. If it you are connecting with another airline you will have to contact them and they will work to get you another flight. But it will take time. *
3 :
its your negligence for only having a 47 minute connection!! if your first flight is a domestic flight (departs and lands in the USA), you will miss your second plane by over an hour, regardless of weather!

Flight from New York to San Francisco (round trip)

Flight from New York to San Francisco (round trip)?
Hello everybody, I live in Italy. On Saturday I will take a flight from Rome to New York. Then I will need to arrive in San Francisco but I have not yet bought the flight's tycket. I do not know which alternative is the most affordable: 1) to buy now online the tycket; 2) to buy the tycket on Saturday, when I will be in New York, at the airport or in a travel agency. Which alternative is the best? If you suggest to buy online the tyckets, can you indicate some sites or air companies? Thanks

Neither is the "best" alternative. It wold almost certainly have been cheaper to buy the whole trip together. Failing that it would have been cheaper to have booked the onward portion in advance. At this point, it may or may not be cheaper to book now, but if you don't book now you may find that the flight you want is full.
2 :
I agree with Neil that it is better if you booked everything together. Buying tickets separately is generally more expensive. You can see how much it costs to fly on JetBlue or Virgin America. Those are the best airlines to fly across the United States.
3 :
You will need to book the ticket as soon as possible. Use your usual travel agent or on-line site, for example http://www.expedia.com. As this is very close to your needed departure in NYC you will have limited cheap options. Jetblue has just now roundtrip tickets for 400-500 USD from JFK-LAX. Do take care that NYC has several airports and it will take time to transfer between them.
4 :
i suggest you buy the ticket now, because. New york to San Francisco is a hot route, you cant possibly get a good deal if you buy it at the airport or in a travel agency. they will take advantage of you, since you are there at last minute, and you'll have to pay too much. and if you catch a flight on Sunday to San Fran. $683 roundtrip on www.cheapoair.com return on 8/12 if you modify, you might recieve a cheaper price.
5 :
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
