It's approximately 5-5.25 hours if you have a direct flight. Unfortunately, most flights will have a layover in LA, which will increase the flight time by an additional hour (and even more if you include the actual time of the layover).

A non-stop flight---which you can do on United, U.S. Air, Northwest, American Airlines, Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, and even Alaska Airlines, depending on which dates and times you choose--will take about five hours and twenty minutes. The shortest is five hours and five minutes (Hawaiian Airlines), but the longest is only five hours and 37 minutes (Alaska Airlines.) This, of course, is assuming that flying conditions are perfect and there's no interference from the weather. If the times of the non-stop flights don't work for you -- or if the price is better on one that makes a connection -- you can plan on the journey taking 10 or 11 hours. As a poster above said, the most popular place to change flights is Los Angeles. There are, however, flights that connect in Salt Lake City and even Minneapolis (believe it or not!), which certainly seems rather counter-intuitive. Obviously, you'll have to add on a whole lot more time if you're (for some reason) taking one of these. The journey could take up to 18 hours! Hopefully, though, you'd never have to choose that option. On the way back, a non-stop flight should take pretty much the same amount of time -- it might be a few minutes shorter. Hope that helps! Have a great trip and a safe flight.
